For the past couple of weeks in Te Ngahere we have been working on trick shots. This weeks trick shot was paper planes. We had to fly the paper plane into a box in the most creative way possible, The whole thing had to be three seconds or longer. A couple of things that I enjoyed the most was making the planes and throwing them. Some things that didn't work very well was managing our time. We didn't have that long to think of many ideas so we just put a box on the floor and stood on some steps and threw it into the box. Have you ever done a trick shot?

Trick shot Challenge
This week in Te Ngahere we have been focusing on trick shots. The whole idea was to make the ping pong ball bounce or roll into a plastic cup. It could not be under 3 seconds and it had to touch a piece of cardboard. My group cut out a ping pong bat using a piece of cardboard, we used that to hit the ping pong ball up into the air so that it could roll down a cardboard ramp that my friend was holding. The ball than landed into the cup, we tried heaps of different ideas but this was the most easiest. We had to make it unique so that's why we cut out a ping pong bat. Next time if we do this again we should manage our time more so we have more time to make the trick shot more unique. Have you done something like this before? What would you do differently?

My math eyes
My Math Eyes
We are learning to identify maths in the world around us by using our maths eyes. We were looking at a picture of gingerbread men, We then started to identify all of the different things that we noticed about the gingerbread men, two things that I noticed was that they all had two buttons as well as two arms and two legs.
Looking back at the work I did yesterday I noticed that I had learnt knew things about math that I never knew before. I was looking at the math a way that I had never looked at it before.
Would you do something like this?
